Ed Kerns

Ed Kerns (born 1945) is an internationally exhibited American artist and academic whose works of painterly and digital imagery have been the subject of or have been included in more than forty solo exhibits and 150 group and collaborative exhibitions worldwide.[1] Kerns studied with the noted Abstract-Expressionist painter, Grace Hartigan and through the elder artist came to know and work with many artists of that generation including, Phillip Guston, Willem DeKooning, James Brooks, Ernest Briggs, Richard Diebenkorn and Sam Francis.

Kerns is the Eugene H. Clapp Professor of Art and Humanities at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania where he has taught since 1980.[2] Kerns collaborated with the poet Lee Upton on a book of poetry and images.[3] In 1982 Kerns was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.[4]
